〈 CHARACTER INFO 〉
CHARACTER NAME: Mizuki
CHARACTER AGE: 12
SERIES: Pokemon Sun(&Moon)
CHRONOLOGY: Post Canon
CLASS: Hero

BACKGROUND: Link to her and to the game's plot. She's basically post every possible thing you can do in the game.
Her legendary is Solgaleo and she is a Faller. TLDR: There's a strange energy around her now that causes Ultra Beasts to mistake her as an Ulta Worm Hole.
- She moved from Kanto to Alola and basically had to learn whatever they were speaking in Alola, though she knows a decent amount of the language at the start and she's grown more fluent in it over her travels. This is based on what the games themselves have shown us of [insert Language here] non-native speakers, such as Looker when he first appeared in Diamond and Pearl, and it's heavily implied Fantina moved to Sinnoh from Kalos/a non-Japanese region as she also speaks in broken English/Japanese in her appearances. There's also a Kantonian woman in the Looker sidequest in X/Y whom he can't understand as she was speaking a different language. In one Castelia City (Unova) office building there's a party on the 47th floor, where numerous staff speaking foreign languages can be interacted with.
- Not that this matters because of the translation stuff going on in MoM, but it noteworthy as part of her background.

PERSONALITY: Mizuki's personality is largely developed through the dialogue choices a player makes as they progress through the game. One can choose to be a jerk, rude and brash even as they help with the plot, or they can choose to be kind and helpful, eager to lead a hand where needed. Mizuki is a kind soul at heart. She is considerate and, above all, a giant chatterbox once she gets going who loves nothing more than talking with people and learning all she can about Alola and it's language/s and customs. Her mum came from the region after all and she's fallen in love with it, even though she's now aware not everything is hunky-dory in Alola.

Yet outside that, she is also human. She's still a child with all the pitfalls that come with the age. She can be immature and bratty and childish and cruel with her words even if she tries not to be. She can be arrogant and rub in her luck of tripping over shiny pokemon while she's travelled. But she has grown on her Island Challenge; gained humility about her stupid luck with shines and discovered the kind of person she really is and will grow into: Kind, passionate, caring, trusting, willing to help people no matter what, but above all, she believes in doing the right thing by others even if it's hard or she doesn't agree with what 'the right thing' is. In that vein, Mizuki is curious about the world around her and sees the beauty in everything, no matter how small or insignificant and she believes there is good in even the darkest of places or people. Where there is light, there is shadow, and where there is shadow, there is light.

That isn't to say she is a pushover. Pit no. Mizuki is a prodigy when it comes to pokemon. She is the Alolan Champion at age 12 and that shows just how skilled she is. Hell, Interpol paid her to hunt down and capture the Ultra Beasts in Alola, which she did, though she did have a number of close calls as well. And those UBs are still in her possession as she's never handed them over to Interpol. Given time and growth, it's likely she'll grow into one of the leading figures of her generation. She sticks to her morals as well and she has the guts to back them up, as seen when she goes into Po town in search of a pokemon stolen by Team Skull and willingly takes on Guzma over it, or when she faces down Lusamine over what she did. This is proof she won't back down from a challenge, even if it seems hard or she's scared. She will be brave and she will show guts because she chose to do this.

Of course, she can be a complete doofus at times (hey, she is a kid and for all her determination to do her best- she is a child). Case in point, she has had to face the consequences of her lack of preparation more than once, be it from unexpected challenges or simply not thinking ahead. She has seen through a number of challenges by the skin of her teeth and skill because she didn't stop at a pokemon centre. But, even so, she does heal her pokemon as often as she can, be it via items and berries or a trip to the Pokemon Centre. Her team are her friends first and foremost, and she has swapped a number of them out purely because they no longer wish to battle.

That said, she asks her team to do their best no matter what comes their way and it's something she asks of herself too. The Island Challenge is about doing one's best after all. It's about finding yourself and discovering the kind of person you want to be. Or, that is what she believes it to be and she knows it's not an easy thing. She has met more than a few people who gave up or couldn't hack it, and she doesn't blame them. It's not an easy thing that she's done. But, doing her best does not mean pushing her team beyond what they can do. If she loses (and she has lost (just not any plot-centric battles), she takes the time to understand why and adjust her thinking. In this way, she's always growing and willing to incorporate new ideas into her existing mindset.

She trusts and is gullible, yes, but that doesn't mean she doesn't understand the world's not black and white. It's shades of grey and she's come to understand it, but it's not been an easy pill to swallow. Mizuki has been told, point-blank to her face, that she trusts too much. Yet she'd rather trust than not. She wants to believe in the good of the world and that everyone has good in them somewhere, even Lusamine though her feelings about Lillie's mother are complicated but ultimately, Mizuki believes there is good in the woman. She is kind to a fault, both to friends and people who dislike, even hate her (cough Guzma). She wants to believe the best in them but she won't push her views on anyone.

She understands that she needs to allow people to be people and to have their own thoughts, even if she doesn't like it. Case in point, she felt incredibly uncomfortable with Lillie basically saying that Nebby wants to go with her, but she didn't refuse, because that is what her friend's pokemon wanted. Nor was she comfortable when Guzma gave her his lucky charm, but she accepted it at the time because that was his wish. She does want to return it though because it means more to him than her, and she doesn't feel right in taking such a precious item.

Mizuki is loyal and she's willing put herself at risk for her friends, even those she's just met, going so far as to face down incredibly dangerous odds, be it going into Po town alone, or going up against creatures known as Ultra Beasts, who are basically killing machines. Said creatures have killed in the past and who happily kill Mizuki given half the chance. Hell, in her battles against them, if she wasn't as skilled (and lucky) as she is she would have died.

On a special note, she is well aware of Other Dimensions- she's canonically travelled to two (Ultra Space where she fought the nihilego-possessed Lusamine, and another version of her world, where she... basically witnessed Nebby (a solgaleo) and a lunala have funky light show g-rated sex to make another cosmog. Yea. That was a thing and she still doesn't know what to think about it other than AWKWARD), and a world without pokemon, while Weird, is something she will dive headlong into exploring. Sure it's weird, but she knows other dimensions exist, so...

TLDR: Mizuki is a skilled prodigy full of sunshine and is a good girl who believes there is a good in everyone, but she is also determined to do her best and have fun.

POWER:
POKEMON-
She comes with the ones detailed below, plus a depowered wimpod known as Mushu, who is basically the isopod equivalent to a magikarp: useless but really good at cleaning things and hiding. Or retreating back to its pokeball. Nothing is lost or gained by having it depowered.

Her powered pokemon are able to gain exactly one level a month, if she trains with the cast. The Wimpod will stay small and weak forever.

Mizuki can also use Z-Power once per battle, provided she has her Z-Ring on her. What this means is basically either powering up a move of a certain type via a Z-Crystal or allowing certain pokemon to use a unique Z-Move exclusive to their species. For example, Steelium Z bolsters the power of any Steel-type the holding pokemon knows, while a Decidium Z held by a decidueye who knows the move 'Spirit Shackle' will be able to pull off the move 'Sinister Arrow Raid'. Mizuki will come with a full set of known Sun&Moon Z-Crystals, though all may not be useful to her pokemon.

SHINY FORMS-
Due to her luck at basically literally tripping over a few Shiny pokemon on her adventures, Mizuki will be able to grant any pokemon (and animals) their shiny form for an hour via touch, but she can't revert them to normal. So, if she touches a pokemon, it'll be shiny for an hour. She can learn to control it and do this at will, but to start with it will happen automatically. The Shiny form given is either my choice or RNG'd and based on available shiny forms across all generations (gen 2 to gen 7). Animals will be based on what pokemon/s they resemble best. IE: a hyena will end up drawing from all dog-based shines, so it might end up gold for an hour. A cat may end up lime green and a bat bright pink.

HEALING-
She can heal pokemon and people, with a stamina based on what she's healing and the more damage she has to heal, the more tiring it is. Look, she's a tiny small child. She's not going to be running around healing a hundred people a day. That said, every time she heals a person, a keychain shaped like a bed appears. It smells like freshly done lemon-scented bedding and does nothing but be a keychain.

Humans translate up to four critically injured a day, which will leave her Exhausted to the point of passing out once she's done. That said, healing pokemon from minor/standard battle damage will be easier than healing them from say, a battle where they were curbstomped, in which case healing only translates into two teams (so eight pokemon) per day before she is Exhausted to the point of passing out.

Healing anything from near-death will have her passing out on the spot once she's done. The same with trying to push past her limits.
